Houghton-Butcher "Ensign Special Reflex"
Your great, great, grandfather would have loved this, even though it was huge and heavy. It took 3¼" by 4¼" glass plates and had a 150mm f/4.5 Tessar lens. Shutter speeds up to 1,000th of a second and the aperture closed down to f/45.
A dozen glass plates in their metal holder would weigh in at about three pounds. The view finder reversed things left to right but that was an improvement on the older viewing screen which would show the image upside down as well.
They were made from 1908 or so.
